2026 GENENTECH GRADUATE STUDENT AND POST-DOC SYMPOSIUM

IN DRUG METABOLISM AND PHARMACOKINETICS (DMPK)

Genentech is now accepting applications for the 2026 Graduate Student Symposium in DMPK.
This symposium recognizes outstanding research-based graduate students and post-doctoral fellows who are engaged in the sciences of bioanalysis, drug metabolism, drug transport, pharmacokinetics, and modeling & simulation; and have interest in pursuing careers in drug discovery and development. 


The DMPK group is dedicated to enabling the discovery, development and commercialization of safe and effective medicines by elucidating the absorption, distribution, metabolism, excretion and pharmacokinetic properties of small molecule drug candidates. 
Graduate students and post-doctoral fellows touring the Genentech production facilities in South San Francisco.

We work in close partnership with disciplines such as medicinal chemistry, pharmacology, toxicology, pharmaceutical sciences, clinical pharmacology and regulatory to optimize leads, select clinical candidates, conduct preclinical development studies, support clinical evaluation and contribute to IND and NDA filings.

  • Research award symposium with talks from graduate/post-doctoral fellow award recipients and Genentech scientists.
  • Meet and greet social/networking and opportunities for one-on-one meetings with Genentech scientists.
  • Tour of the Genentech South San Francisco research laboratories.
  • Travel accommodations and honorarium for award recipients.

    • CV
    • Abstract of presentation
  • PDF applications should include the applicant’s name and institution in the file description (example: “Surname-First Name-Institution”) and can be submitted to: dmpk-symposium-d@gene.com. Applicants faculty advisor must be cc’ed on application
